The Winding Road to Jacques Cousteau

Day 3 on the Island of Guadeloupe we headed to the Jacques Cousteau Reserve . The adults in our group remember Jacques well from their childhood.  The students - not so much.  Before going we learned about him here .  We still have plans to learn much more here . *  *  * It was a long drive from our house in St. Claude to the reserve in  Bouillante   with a lot of twists, turns, and narrow roads to pass through.  The drive was about 35 minutes and all throughout the drive we kept getting carsick.  The drive would have been shorter, if the moms would not have gotten really excited and stopped to take pictures of what they think of as "cute things"   along the way.  Once we got to the beach, we had about an hour of playing in the ocean before we had to get on our snorkeling equipment and take a boat out to Pigeon Island (Ilets de Pigeon), which was the name of the island.  When we got there we dived into the water and looked for fish.  My favorite fish that I saw w
